RE: Benj. C. Morse
Just happened to be in that cemetery doing some genealogy research. I always take photos and log information if no one has done it before, I figure it helps people with their search.
My husband's name has always been Cleaves since they got off the boat from England in the 1600's...

RE: Another thing
Hi, Karen!

Thank you for your notes. We are bearing up, Mansel was so sick that his passing is a blessing - we know he is now at peace with the Good Lord instead of suffering so badly.

Regarding my note with Jesse Wood, that was in regard to my great-parents Bob and Mary Creech: Jesse knew them when he was a kid and his mom and my Meemaw Mary were best friends, and he first sent me a note, regarding Bob. I expect he called Bob and Mary aunt and uncle out of a close family friendship instead of any blood relation, But - and this is a big but, insofar as Bob's mother Fannie is the mystery woman on that side of my family, who can say but that I am not related to some Woods on her side? I have looked and looked and LOOKED, and so have who knows how many others among her descendants, for any hint of who Fannie's folks were, but have yet to find anything. Am not even sure of her maiden name, which is said to be Hays/Hayes but might have been Hendricks or Hendrix, and of course haven't a clue what her mother's maiden name might be. Unfortunately a fire at the Ouachita Co. courthouse in 1875 destroyed all the early county records, so we have few resources to go on. So, maybe I am directly related to the Woods, but might never know.

A Wood from that part of the state does pop up as collateral kin in my family tree, but on Dad's mother's side instead of his father's side. Effie Medora Wood married my great-great-grand uncle Bill Jacobs "next door" in Dallas Co. She was born in Princeton in Dallas Co. back in 1870. Bill died young and she remarried, to Louis Morgan. Her dad, James R. Wood, hailed from Kentucky but I have found nothing concerning where James' folks came from. I also don't know if Effie was related to the Ouachita Co. Woods or not. Maybe Jesse and Emma can say.

Again, thank you for your notes and kind words. Sorry I can't shed any more light on the Woods or Lees for you. If I run across anything about them, I will of course drop you a line.

Take care and God Bless! - Dee☼
