Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on family trees for over 20 years. History is my passion. Each ancestor has an interesting story to tell us if we take the time to uncover it. Find a Grave has helped me to discover much information about my ancestors.

My current family tree research includes Schliesmann, Mandernach, Kubart, Gianforte, Scurto, Schnetter, Zazeske/Zakrzewski, Janzer, Getter, and Loest. If you connect up through one of these surnames, send me an email to say hi and compare notes to see if we're related somewhere down the line.

I am interested in helping others learn about their ancestors too. I'm working on the enormous task of photographing and documenting the Catholic cemeteries in Racine, WI in Find a Grave. This includes "New" Holy Cross - Hwy 32 (Caledonia), "Old" Holy Cross - Kinzie Ave, Calvary (also on Kinzie Ave), and Holy Family. If I can take a photograph, answer a question, or tackle a mystery for you in any these cemeteries, please let me know. It's always helpful if you call the cemetery office (same for all four cemeteries) and get a plot number.

You may use any photos that I have posted on Find A Grave for personal use as long as you give me credit for the photo. The photos I post are optimized for viewing on a computer. In most cases, I have high resolution files for printing purposes. You can contact me if you need a higher quality photo. I am not opposed to the use of my photos on Ancestry.com as long as I am credited for the photo in its description.

RE: Charles Zazewski
The Chicago are database for the Catholic cemeteries shows the following three Charles Zazewski burials. These are all at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calument City. I believe the date shown is the date of burial.

1. 4-26-1962, Age 83; Section: St. John, Lot 414

2. 9-5-1995, Age 82; Section: St. Wenceslaus, Block D, Lot 24, Grave 4

3. 7/21/2003, Age 60; Mausoleum, Crypt 221, Tier 3

I hope this assists you in locating the one you are looking to find.

RE: Charles Zazewski
Hi! No problem. I will check the kiosk for his name to see if he is buried there. Ace

Hi Jennifer,

Thank you very much. I have seen all the memorials you have created and all the photos you have added to the memorials. Just to let you know that for the memorial 111116736 (Sr Benetta Vollmecke's) you have added the photo of Sister Verona Vollmecke's gravestone and for the memorial 104675428 (Sr Renata Hausladen's) you have added the photo of Sister Agatha Hausladen's gravestone. As far as I know, there are several couples of biological sisters among Racine dominicans.

I have never talked to the archivist at Siena Center but I would like to add sisters' obituaries to the memorials we have created. On Racine Journal Times obits from the nineties and eighties are not free and I don't know if there are other possibilities to get their obituaries.

Thank you again Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

I don't have a special connection to the Racine dominicans but I have been taught by Catholic sisters who marked my life. I try to add more memorials of sisters from different congregations in order to remember their contributions to so many lives.

Thank you

Hello,

I have been adding memorials of Racine dominican sisters who are buried at Holy Cross Cemetery (Racine and Caledonia). Sadly I am not able to take photos of their gravestones. Maybe you are going to include them in the work you are doing at your county's cemeteries.

Thank you very much

THANK YOU for the photos of Charlie and Lottie. One question, so you have the spelling for Lottie's last name? (Second marriage). I thought it was Shimcovich, but that does not appear to be what is on the headstone, however, I am not quite able to make out the lettering. Maybe you wrote the name down.

Thanks again for the photos

Thanks for the corrections on Vincent. I had to remove the photo of the cemetery because it was the wrong one so if possibly if you have one of the cemetery itself would appreciate if you could add it.
