Eddins Connection
I only have back to Samuel in my Family Tree. I do have Julia McWhirter wife of William and the names of their children but no info other than approximate birth dates for the children. I cannot track them back to your family. You are probably correct about the connection being from her but I cannot connect it. Sorry, wish I could help.

RE: Mary Martin Cato, AR
Thank you for your reply.
Several of my Martin ancestors are buried at Frenchman Mountain Cato Cemetery. I have information from a family history compiled by a cousin several years ago that my g-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Warren Martin (Mollie Martin) is buried here. I have walked the cemetery, but could not find a marker for her. She died 28 Jan 1886. The 1880 census shows her living in Gregory Township in Conway County.
I am also looking for my gg-grandfather, Benjamin Franklin Martin's grave. I do not believe he is buried here, as he remarried after the death of his first wife, Sarah, and lived in White County at the time of his death in 1894. Three of BFM's children, however, are buried here at Frenchman Mountain Cato Cemetery. John Franklin Martin, Nellie W. Martin, and Cecil W. Martin. I have seen their graves and have photos of their markers. JFM's wife, Julia Goodsen Martin, and two of their children, Nelly A. Martin, and Johney Blanch Martin are buried here.
Is there any way you can tell how many graves are in the plot where the graves of Nellie W. and Cecil W. Martin are buried? I was thinking perhaps the grave of my g-grandmother, Mary Warren Martin, might be in the same area, but unmarked.
I am curious why so many of my ancestors would be buried in this cemetery which is quite a distance from where they lived in Gregory Township in Conway County. I believe they were Methodists. Possibly they attended this church or maybe the minister traveled over the county at that time? I so wish I could have asked these questions of my grandparents when they were living. Any info you may have to share will be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you.

I appreciate the picture for the memorial, but the tombstone is for his wife. Did he not have a tombstone? Thank you for volunteering your time.

RE: Orchards at Smith Hill Cemetery
Good work, Martha--it must be unusual to find a cemetery that's not on FindAGrave. Hancock is out of my area, but I hope you find someone to cover it.

Hi Martha - Sorry, no relation. I just happened upon the charming old cemetery and got to work with my camera. It's a lovely spot.
