In 2012 I've decided to try to sort out my relatives. My family has not kept good records and have not kept close relations. |
Bennett is my maiden name.
Many of my Bennett relatives were originally from Iowa, particularly Waverly area. Some moved to Washington into the Spokane and Walla Walla areas on the east side and into Tacoma/Gig Harbor area on the west side. My search results are available in Ancestry.com under Bennett Family tree Oct 2013.
A few other names on my Bennett side that I've found in my tree include Smith/Schmidt, Brown/Frohn, Powell, Lowry/Lowery, Belcher and Pitman.
On my mom's side I've found Spengler, Rinio, Brown/Frohn/Frum, Grush/Grusch and Fickleshare - many of which did not immigrate from Germany.
For all the information I'm finding, I'd like to give back by helping out with getting grave pics, etc.
Thanks to all that takes pictures and post them of the graves and/or other family memories as well as those that can share their stories. I can't tell you how much relief I've found from the information posted on FAG. The family connections and obituary information is so helpful.
Just a little cheat bit of code for me to use for adding links.

I don't have mine in Ancestry as I don't have much of an account on it. But I would be happy to share what I have some time. At the moment I am RE-organizing my 'stuff' lol. The links I have on Find A Grave are pretty accurate for the most part. I'll see what I can do and try to send you what I have on my Powells. Do/did the Bennetts live in the area? I do recognize the name for the Adams County area.

I am related through Joseph and Pheobe Powell. They are my 3rd Great Grandparents. I haven't worked much on Joshua John Powell. Maybe it's because I haven't found a whole lot on him. But now I have someone to tell me lol. As for their parents.. I have no idea right now.. I am from Mark H Powell line (My 2nd GreatGrandfather) Elmer Mark Powell (My Great Grandfather)Midred Haley Powell was my grandmother. That's how I'm related lol... You can use my private email address to contact me.. musictatterATgmailDOTcom.

I will see if I can find out anything from here. I will check the library for obits, but we don't have very good coverage until after 1900. Will let you know if I find anything.

I hope you can find some good information to add. Enjoy working on your family's roots.
|Molly McLaughlin||JESSE CARTER FARRAR|
He is likely named Jesse Carter Farrar after the brother of Catherine Carter Arrington Farrar, d/o George Carter and Lucy Marshall Carter and widow of Richard Arrington. She married Abner Farrar, a son of Thomas Farrar who died in Georgia in 1809/10. Thomas Farrar was a first cousin of then President, Thomas Jefferson. Much online regarding this line, but they resided in Greenville, SC and later in Franklin Co.,Georgia where you see them with her Malone half-siblings.

Good for you for coming up with a creative method of problem solving for the lack of transfers to you from non-related indiv. or Find a Grave, due to death of a memorial manager. Keep up the good work. You are doing a great job!

You're quite welcome. Glad I could be of service to you.

I have 3 other Bennett's that I created memorials for. If they are you're family I'd be happy to transfer them as well.
George Bennett, 1875-1968
Lena Bennett, 1885-1963
Ray Bennett, 1893-1959
