Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching the Perrings of the county of South Devon, England for some 20 years and accumulated a database of some 3,700 individuals my research covered at In the last few years I've turned my attention to trying to track individuals who left the beautiful county of Devon to seek their fortune elsewhere. I've successfully tracked people to Australia, New Zealand, Canada & USA. The work of others populating this site has increased my knowledge greatly so I felt it only right to join and start to contribute myself. Any queries, etc please get in touch.

St.. James Church and Churchyard Burials
Hi Mike,
I am a descendant of the Hawkins family that are buried at the St. James Church and Churchyard in Slapton. I wanted their memorials on Find a Grave, but no one had ever created the cemetery site. I did some research and was able to open the cemetery, and create their memorials.

About the same time I found a list of names, on line, of people that were buried in the cemetery in the late 1700 and early 1800 hundreds, they probably had been transcribed from church records. I created memorials for them. My hopes were that, just maybe, someone would find an ancestor among one or two.

My hopes came true today, when I got an e-mail from a lady that was so happy to find one of her ancestors.

Looking through the site I found that you had added 13 more Perring's, with tombstones, to the two Perring memorials that I had entered.

I feel so rewarded, and Blessed for my effort.

Perring family
Thanks for supplying her parents names and correcting my spelling. I was using records from her grandson who has since died. I would be interested in more information about the Perrings in So. Devon if you wish to share. Some of the family are interested in their heritage.

Hello again,
She also has an incorrect photo of her memorial, it is supposed to be for Ann Perry.
