 | RE: Oppy Cemetery, Scioto Co. Hi,
I'm replying to the message you left for me:
Oppy Cemetery, Scioto Co. Do you know anything about the history of the Oppy Cemetery? I am descended from David Oppy who had two brothers Christopher, and Abraham that settled in the area. I believe Christopher was probably the one that owned land in that area. He was born about 1784. He had a son James b. in the early 1800's.

Unfortunately, I do not know any of the history of this cemetery. My research has me in that area due to my husband's side of the family.
If you have not already checked into this, you may be able to find info on deeds, history, etc. by emailing or calling: http://www.ohiohistory.org/collections--archives/archives-library The website is very informative. If they cannot help you, they may be able to point you in the right direction.
Good Luck. I will keep an eye out and if I find anything, I'll get back in touch.
Sincerely, Karen | | | M. Richards
 | MOOREs - SKILLMANs John Skillman Moore and Nancy Edwards are my fourth great grandparents on my maternal side. John Skillman who was first husband of Catherine Beekman, was son of Jacob Skillman. One of John's sisters married into the Moore family; which is how the Skillman name got added. Sherry (Moore) Clendenon is related, her grandfather was Ross Cobb Moore, son of Gabriel Ross Moore and Edna Emma Cobb. Sherry and I share second great grandparents, John Wesley Moore and Elizabeth Keath. If you have time check my virtual cemetery on the Moores and Keaths, you'll find we are related to the Bodys (pronounced Bode) also. Send me an email with your snail mail address and I'll mail you some information. | | | M. Richards
 | COBB Linda, quick question was your grandfather married to Louisa Cobb (d/o Albert J. Cobb & Olive Pierce)? Jonathan Henry Cobb's, (Albert's oldest brother) is father of Edna "Emma" Cobb who married Gabriel Ross Moore. | | | M. Richards
 | OPPY - DAWSON Linda, I have made the links from Ruth to her parents. I have a question, my family has John Dawson married on August 25, 1842 (Warren County, Indiana) to Sarah Ward. When did Sarah become Sarah Dubois Kidney? Was that her maiden name; or was she married prior to or after John Dawson? My family records have her born in 1816 in New York and dying in 1888 in Illinois. John and Sarah had six children, five daughters and one son. Please correct me for I somehow have wrong information. Thanks for all you are doing to help findagrave connect folks with their ancestors. | | | Ruth Griffin
