I grew up in New Brunswick, New Jersey and have lived in many states throughout the United States. My interest in genealogy began in 1991 and I've been researching my family and my husband's since that time. Visiting many parts of the country, Canada and Europe has contributed opportunities for photographs and new information about our family both living and deceased.|

Thanks for the updated info.
Did you make it back to this area and did you do any research? The warm weather is here and I plan on getting back out there, Let me know if you want me to look for any memorials for you.

Thank-you for your prompt attention in this matter. It is much appreciated.
I will contact the admins and request the cemetery be deleted.
(P.S. I also had some more Fauquier's at Beechwood Cemetery I transferred to you)

No problem Barbara,
Thanks for letting me know but you don't have to ask for each - all I ask is that the images be accredited.

No indication - The informant at Sutherland's burial was his daughter "Nan Guertin" so no help there.
I'm working on a backlog of about 150 monuments from over the winter so it might take me a while but I can ask at the cemetery but they might not allow access as the death is "recent" due to privacy concerns. If you are related you could try contacting them directly.

I saw your note to MystikNZ.
Waipu and Wellington are two different places almost 500 miles apart :-)
I have put up a memorial to John Douglas - I am happy to transfer it to you if you wish.
John actually died in a place called Tuparoa (which is nowhere near either Wellington or Waipu). He is recorded as being buried on a Marae at Taumataomihi, Gisborne. This graveyard will be administered by the local Iwi (Maori tribe) and not by the Gisborne council. This may be why you could not find him. Maori have enormous respect for the dead and their burial sites. Consequentally, if there is a headstone at Taumataomihi rest assured it will be well looked after.
Unfortunately, Gisborne is on the East Coast of the North Island and, as I live in the South Island, I am unable to visit the graveyard and look for the headstone.

Thanks. At present the cemetery is undergoing a major refurbishment, including the paths. The area of the grave will look a lot better shortly.
