RE: hensley's cemetery, middlesboro
I have heard that before I but never knew for certain. I know when I was living back home (ky) when they were building the New 25E there was a cemetery pretty large and old. To my knowledge the cemetery didnt get moved they just mowed it over, so I heard. They did mull it over to move it but I think it was voted to take too long & cost too much. I keep telling my husband that I am going up on that hill to see if its there but have never taken the time when I visit to do actually do it. Where I live now I know of 4 Old cemeteries totally mowed over with farms, roads and houses so its not uncommon for that to happen.

At this point documentation (dc; family record) is what you have to go on and you can place notes in there to say this is what took place that the burial is actually under the church.

Welcome to find a grave, hope you enjoy it.:)

I am not surprised, alot of churches dont keep those records. The only record that we would have is the listings done by volunteers that would walk the cemeteries & document information from headstones. I do this for the county I live in.

Your best bet is that by the documentation you have that is where your family member is buried possible there is no stone. This is not unusual even for the 30's or 40's. Happened many times in my family as well. If your documents show he/she is buried in that cemetery you can post it, however you may not have a stone for photo. I have had this situtation myself. I have contacted cemeteries & churches to get confirmation before and some places like smaller ones dont always get so lucky.

I dont know if any of this has helped any more questions just holler.

No, I am happy to say I haven't. Did that happen to Harvey? Nothing surprises me any more.

RE: harvey joe moore
Hello Mike, concerning Harvey Moore, the basic information came from his obituary. The dates and parent's name. Other then that, I know absolutely nothing about him. However, it was good to hear from you. If I can help you further, please let me know...Take care...
