In the late 1980's I realized that I was the eldest living grandchild in both the Hevern (Fitzpatrick) and Ingebretson (Grane) families and that there was knowledge on both sides of my family that would never be known unless I compiled the information. As a result, this led into researching and genealogy and eventually writing a self-made book (for immediate family only) about our family. My husband's sisters' asked me to compile a similar 'self-made book' regarding their Gentry (Reid) and Broomfield (Cranfill) lines.

Our dates, places and information were gained from Family Knowledge, newspaper obits, Social Security, United States Census, LDS, Rootsweb's World Connect Project and Family Search ~ plus others, too numerous to mention.

My husband and I are the proud parents of
five children,
twelve grandchildren and
twenty-two great-grandchildren.

She has put on invisibility
Dear Lord, I cannot see ---
But this I know, although the road ascends
And passes from my sight,
That there will be no night;
That You will take her gently by the hand
And lead her on
Along the road of life that never ends,
And she will find it is not death but dawn.
I do not doubt that You are there as here,
And You will hold her dear.

Our life did not begin with birth,
It is not of the earth,
And this that we call death, it is no more
Than the opening and closing of a door ---
And in Your house how many rooms must be
Beyond this one where we rest momently.

Dear Lord,
I thank You for the faith that frees,
The love that knows it cannot lose its own;
The love that,
looking through the shadows, sees;
That You and she and I are ever one!

Genealogy, begins as an interest,
becomes a hobby,
continues as an avocation and
in the last stages,
is an incurable disease.

Those who feel no pride in ancestor's are unworthy to be remembered by descendants.

We are the chosen. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes.

Those who have gone before cry out to us:

Lester Olson

Thanks for the info on the duplicate memorial. At one time Opal and Lester were listed as buried in the Gary SD cemetery. The Olson's are long-time family friends and I wanted to link him to his family members.

After getting no response for changing the cemetery, I added him. Now that his original memorial is correct, I will delete mine.

Keep up the good work. jfett

RE: James Nelson Wooley
No. I use to be married to Lloyd's nephew for 17 years. I and the entire family are still good friends. Been researching the Wooley side for my daughter, so she would have a history of her dad's side of the family.

RE: Cain
You a very welcome! I truly enjoy bringing people together with 'where they came from'. I did also find another Cain located nearby so I added that record as well. Enjoy!

RE: Abraham Hamilton
Abraham had several wives I know that. He was married to Millicent Lombard who was a sister to David Edward Lombard who was my great-grandfather through his daughter Essie Lillian Lombard Limes.

The parent links have been added to his memorial. Are you related to Abraham Hamilton?
