I am interested in Storer/Storey/Story genealogy. As a male in my line, I want to know where I come from. I have been searching for the father of my 4th great grandfather David Calvin Storer 1780-1852 of Niles, Scioto, OH. According to the 1850 Census, he is from New Jersey. Some suggest that he is the son of Samuel Storer/Storey (unknown info), who is the son on Thomas Storer/Storey of Monmouth, NJ. But there is no data to confirm this. Any help would be much appreciated.|

Unfortunately in the early days of our genealogy research we were not always great about documenting sources. I do not see where this came from, but my husband did research and apparently located this burial. William was his 4th g grandfather. I will add this to my list of questions but I must warn you, we have boxes of stuff and it may be a while before I find something, if ever. I did add a note that the tombstone was not found in June 2013. So many have disappeared that it is sad. Thank you.

I'm sorry, Adam. I don't have any additional information on the Storer family that might help you solve the question of Asher's father. Scioto County has nearly all of their records completely intact back to 1803 when Ohio was made a state. You might try the courthouse in Portsmouth for marriage records or will/inventory records.
