RE: Albert Goodloe
Thanks Henry. Emma Susan Goodloe was the daughter of Albert Gallatin Goodloe and she married Henry Cook Barton and four kids with Albert Goodloe Barton being their third. The local fellow I mentioned who has taken care of the Barton Cemetery is Goodloe Pride with Goodloe being his first name. The people at the Florence Lauderdale library know him and contacted him while I was in town. They should have his information. My e-mail is for future messages so that we don't have to stumble thru Find-A-Grave.

RE: Albert Goodloe
No picture available, eh? According to the book "MY COLBERT COUNTY FAMILIES" Albert moved to San Antonio, TX for health reason about 1855. Ended up not doing him any good so he returned many years later to live out his life. I thought I read where he moved in with the Bartons since his old plantation had been sold and that when he died he was buried in the Lane cemetery. He was born in 1812 and died in 1887 so this hopefully matches what you saw. Do you know Goodloe Price? I met him a couple of years ago when I was in Tuscumbia in July. He said the cemetery was very overgrown and he had tried the maintain the Barton side and not anything else.

Let me hear from you.

I searched again for this grave site but did not locate it. Can you confirm that there is a marker on her grave?

RE: Whittle
Mr.Holmes: I would greatly appreciate any stones that you would like to transfer for the Whittle's send to me. I am sure my family will appreciate it and I want to let you know that you are very kind and for taking the time to look and photo for me, especially on the hot days down here in Florida. With blessings of thanks, Roxane
