Sassone family
You were so kind to take photos of the Sassone family headstone and grave marker for Alexander and Michael. I am wondering if others are buried in the same location? Father, Lorenzo 1892-1969?

Patrick & Mary Tropeano
I created a memorial for Mary C. Tropeano and sent a photo request for her. The date of death is not on the headstone but she is deceased and she is buried there. Could you please add the photo from Patrick's memorial to her memorial.
Thank you,

RE: Vito and Marie Romaniello at St. Mary's, Port Chester
Thanks James. I didn't know her stone had the name 'Polta' on it. I'm pretty certain that's not her. I don't think I can delete the photos? Would you be so kind as to delete them for me? Thanks for all your effort.

RE: Vito and Marie Romaniello at St. Mary's, Port Chester
Hi James,

(You messaged me today about a name and age discrepancy)

The name very well could have been 'Romanello' without the 'i'. I do have an 1897 wedding license for Vito from Avigliano, Italy where the clerk did use the 'i', but I also have a WWI registration card from Port Chester where it was filled out without an 'i'. Hard to say, but without the 'i' is probably a little more likely. Especially if Vito filled out that draft card himself which I think men did.

As far as ages goes, his WWI draft card and all his censuses are pretty consistent. His draft card says 24 Jul 1874, and all his censuses put his age to equal a birth of 1875. His wife Maria Giovanna Sabia Romanello ages are not quite as consistent. An early census equates to an 1878 birth, but for her other censuses she claims 1880. Of course that's not all that unusual for a woman to report a later birth year on her census. I guess the 1870 and 1875 birth dates you found are not out of the question. They would have been 18 and 16 respectively when they married with those dates instead of 22 and 19.

Definitely not a sure thing that the stone you found are for this couple. Your call James. Do what you think is likely correct. Thanks for all your great work!
