Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've always loved history and started researching my family tree back in high school as a school assignment. I went way overboard with the assignment (got an A+!) and so began my love of genealogy. I researched for a couple years in my early 20's, back when people sat in front of a microfiche and spun through hundreds of handwritten records (eek!) until your eyes bugged out. I put my genealogy research aside during college, building a career and starting a family. Twenty years later, I am back doing what I love, with all the wonderful technology making it a hundred times easier! I'm excited to find findagrave.com and hopeful I can be a helpful contributor. Thank you to all the contributors out there who have made my researching so much easier, simply by adding a memorial and a picture from a cemetery! You may copy any pictures I have uploaded here for use with genealogy or email if you'd like a larger image.

You are very welcome Fawn it's the least we can do for those who gave the last full measure. I also was born and raised in Iowa.

RE: Smiths of Patterson Cemetery in Riverside, IA
=) I read it. That is so lovely. What a very thoughtful person he is for doing that. I think that will be very nice for him to be laid to rest (hopefully in many, many years) in the place he restored. That is very nice indeed.

Yes, please do tell him thank you for me and my family.

Also, I'd love to learn more about the process of restoring old pioneer cemeteries. We have one here that needs some work. Maybe I can learn from you and try to do the same here.

Really!? Your friend actually did that? That is so very kind of him. Is he on here? I'd love to send a thank you to him. That really is very kind of him. And of you for transferring them. =) I am new at this, so I might find more there. How interesting.

RE: Smiths of Patterson Cemetery in Riverside, IA
Hi =) Thanks for the reply. I have a detailed family history from a family member who was a nun, she loved to do family research. She typed it out and passed it down to me. That is the source. However, I did see the information from the census on Ancestry as well. Kildare is considered Ireland, Scotland and the UK depending on where you look. =) I just wanted to add some other stuff to his memorial, a short bio left from his distant cousin.

RE: Marker for Loton Leroy Frisbey in Henry Cemetery
I took a closeup of the stone and there isn't a date of death for Rachel so I would be pretty certain that she isn't buryed at Henry. I will load the picture up on his memorial.
Thanks, George

I was on the Clarke Cemetery site and see that you must have gotten out and taken pictures. Thanks for doing that. We appreciate your work. Thank you.
Stone Reader.

RE: Henry Cemetery
I have not seen a list, but the caretaker is very helpful. Member gwl (#47839266) has been working this cemetery and maybe a resource for you.

I tried enlarging the original picture. It is very difficult to read. The month of death came as April. probably early to mid month. The rest of the information came from the town of Belmont's web page. b 1762 d 1831. That is the most I could tell you. I suppose you could do a pencil copy of the date, maybe more info would come out.
I will add Gale as the madien name. That was a promient family in the area. The "Old Gale School" still stands and is need of movement and repair.

Old Crawfordsville Cemetery
Hello Fawn

I found 2 old obituaries stating buried in Old Crawfordsville Cemetery, when in fact I found out later its only the old part of the Crawfordsville Cemetery, Washington County, Iowa.
