My husband and I are into antiques and find that we love anything that reminds us of our grandparents. We have been going on family history quests for the past several years.
Most of my husband's family pictures and saved obituaries, etc. were lost when a tornado destroyed his sister's home in 1985. That started our search for family and our goal to collect and share as much information as we can find and verify.
I have been very fortunate because I have known all of my grandparents and even knew my Great Aunt Bertha and Great Aunt Bessie on into my college years. They even traveled from Missouri to Pennsylvania with my cousin for a visit when I was a sophomore in college.
My husband met my Great Aunt Bertha on Memorial Day in 1969. We made a trip to Park Cemetery to tend family graves and Aunt Bertha gave my husband a lesson of sorts on our family history. She was one of the first persons that I called when I found out I was going to have our first child in 1970. She was tickled pink. She passed away a month after that. She had just turned 92.
I rocked my son and later my daughter and my grandchildren in her rocking chair.
My old people were a cherished part of my life and I miss them.
My husband and I do not rely on the internet. We only use it as a starting point to find verifiable information. Some people go on vacations --- we go on quests to historical societies, churches, courthouses and cemeteries.

I believe that Will (William Edgar) Gilbreath was my Mother-in-law's (Elizabeth Marie Nash) Great Grandfather. While going thru some family records I came across his funeral card. I would like to add this info if possible.
