|David Crawford||Mildred Broughton|
According to her mother's obituary, I believe Mildred Broughton was Lee Broughton's spouse, not his sister. From the Nowata Daily Star, 12 Nov 1974-
“Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Benjamin Chapel for Mrs. Dora W. Nickell, 89, of Nowata who died Monday night in the Nowata General Hospital. Rev. Agnes Hoke will assist Rev. Junior Spohn at the services.
“Interment will be in Ball Cemetery.
“Mrs. Nickell was born March 11, 1885, at Hillsboro, Tex., to Edward and Senna Dixon Wood, moving from there to the Nowata area in 1897. She was married in Nowata on Nov. 12, 1905 to Jonah B. Nickell, who died Nov. 23, 1952. She was a member of the Church of God Holiness.
“Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Walter C. (Lola) Howe of 321 W. Davis; Mrs. Lee (Mildred) Broughton, 1010 W. Bushyhead; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
“Bearers will be Dan and Dick O’Connor, Brent Berry, Brad Good, Julian Harris and Terry Harris.”
Mildred was my 3rd cousin, twice removed. Please let me know if I'm overlooking something.
