Ohhh, that one. That stone was way back against this solid row of real tall fir trees where the sun never shines. The direction of travel of the sun looks like it stays behind those fir trees all day long. The sun might hit Arthur's stone around six or seven o'clock but the cemetery closes at five so that was not an option. I think pics look a lot better in full sun.
Since his stone is in the shade all the time the letters were plugged full of moss. It was a bit overgrown with grass too. I trimmed the grass back and cleaned all the moss out of the letters so you could see what it says. I figured if you wanted to look at moss you could probably go out in your backyard and look at it right? :-]
Anyway, glad I could help you.
I checked the newspaper and did not find any obit or anything on him.

You're welcome. Glad I could help. But, I don't know which one you are talking about?? I did pic requests for about 35 people in the last week or so and I don't know which one was for you?

Thanks for this photo. It gave me her full birthdate which I didn't have.
I am thrilled.
You have a friend in Los Angeles, Pasadena actually, where every morning smells like roses. We have a mild winter. I live a 20 minute walk from the Rose Bowl.
Josiah and Margaret Ann Lewis are my great-grandparents, gone before I was born in 1941.
You have given me a lovely present.
Many thanks. Best wishes.

I noticed that you had posted a memorial for Dorothy Davenport Johnson. Find A Grave Memorial# 100544694.
I also have a memorial for her and would greatly appreciate it if you could post your photos (the Davenort memorial and Dorothy's stone) to the memorial I already have maintained with links to family members. Find A Grave Memorial# 18940422. Dorothy is my mother. Thanks you for these photos .... I haven't been able to get to Jersey for quite a few years so it means a lot to me. Thank you!
