Bio Photo The memorials for Mount Olivet and Maury Cemeteries can be transferred to you for maintenance, just make the request.

I have gotten hooked on genealogy, which I started back in 2005 with my paternal side of the family...once you start you just can't stop!

As a child I remember this cemetery that was in a field near our house, it had a cedar tree in the middle of it which shaded the people under it. It was always a peaceful and calming experience when I went visiting the "family".

Record and Photograph! Record and Photograph! Record and Photograph!

It is appreciated far and wide...thank you findagrave family!

Robin Barksdale
Barksdales of Cluster Springs
Hello,

I am looking for all of our people -- we began somehow in Cluster Springs, VA. as Barksdales.

We know that there were one or two Barksdale plantations and believe we have discovered a few branches that came from the same plantation.

We are trying to track graves for our great grands so we are looking for African/African American Barksdales as well as perhaps a Pearl White.

Have you run across anything and also we will be coming down there soon.. is there a particular cemetery or burial spot that may hold clues for us?

THANKS!

Ellis Creek Baptist Church
Was wondering if there was any information on Zachariah Childress - Was buried there in 1917 from what his death certificate shows. Thank you!

RE: Annie Lacks Carter #105674667

Sorry, but I don't have any additional info to add at this time. Will do so in the future if I get more info ... i.e. the funeral home.

Respectfully ... Art

Hi,
I received your 2 messages regarding Herbert's 2 children. Will await further instructions before making any connections. Do you want transfers?
Regards, Louise

Correction
I have connected Virginia P. Rogers, as you have requested, but am unsure about the parents. Virginia does not appear in in the 1940 census, as follows;
1940 Lochleven, Lunenburg, Virginia
Peter Baskerville; age 37
Inez Baskerville; wife, age 26
Willie Baskerville; son, age 13
Margaret Baskerville; daughter, age 11
Rufas Baskerville; son, age 4
Aron Baskerville; son, age 3
Mary L. Baskerville; daughter, age 1
Arine E. Lawson; stepdaughter, age 8
Jonnie Lawson; stepson, age 4

Not sure what you mean here;
"#108361345 - His parents were Robert May who married Nannie Blackwell on April 4, 1915.
Alex & Mildred were his parents and Jno. & Lottie were her parents."

#108361345 is Robert Lee May. In the same correction note you wrote;
"Lula May was born August 25, 1923 and died May 21, 1991.#108361347 She is the wife of James (aka Jamie) Robert May #108361357 and they are the parents of Robert Lee May #108361345"

I have connected Robert Lee May to Lula May and Robert May. Now I am confused as to whether his mother was Lula or Nannie Blackwell?

Anonymous members
So far I have been contacted by four separate members named "Anonymous". Would it be too much to ask for you to be, say, "Anonymous 123" or something to that effect. I cannot tell you from the others and it is irritating.

Oh, I see what you mean. She must have been the last to survive and bought a "three-pack" headstone ahead of time. Please add your picture to Katie's memorial and I will have to check into why her wishes were not fulfilled (if she prepared ahead). Thanks so much for your efforts and help.
