Bio Photo I am a 54 year old [full time] registered nurse, wife, and mother/Nana of four children and 11 grandchildren. I have been interested in family history since I was about 8 years old. My Nana told me many stories that kept my interest. I just recently joined and it has been a big help!!

I am willing to take photos in the Greater Bakersfield area, but sometimes it takes me a while to got out to the cemeteries. But I will put your requests on my "to-do list."

RE: Enoch
Hi Valerie, Just a heads up... I was not able to go to Nevada and look for your Enoch. I have sent another request for help on this matter. I know that if I was the one looking and in Nevada this would have been all taken care of for you by now. And if I couldn't take care of it, I would have told you that we couldn't / or didn't have the info. I will give this another couple weeks and if nothing then we will DEAD LETTER FILE it.

Enoch Jordan
Hi Valerie,
I haven't forgotten about your request. I have since gone out to the person that handles all of Douglas County research in Cemeteries. Name is Bill Cook. He normally answers me within a couple days. However he still has not gotten back to me. I am a little fed up with him. At any rate... I am going up the that area in June and will see if I can walk the cemetery and look for the burial for you. If I find it, I will email it back to you. Sorry it has been so long. Sometimes these things take time.

RE: Enoch Jordan
Hi Valerie,
I am getting back to you with information on Enoch Jordan, In his obituary that I found after I signed up for tells me that he worked for Dangberg investments in the Carson Valley. As far as I know the Dangberg Ranch is still around up there in Gardnerville area. What you may want to do is do a search for a phone number for the Dangberg Ranch and see if anyone can give you any other information as the exact location of the plot. If they cant I may be able to check it out when I go up to Nevada in June. Let me know what you find out.

So far it's been a slow go. They normally answer back fairly quick. If I was up there, I would walk the entire cemetery for ya. And I know there was a name like that there. I just can't place it in the layout of the cemetery. You walk these cemeteries you get to know names and locations.

I am still trying for you to get the info from the person that does the Nevada Genweb info. It's still a good chance we could find out where Enoch is at, and possibly obtain photos. I went to them once last month and received no reply, I just sent another in hopes that I might hear something before Christmas.. We will see what turns up.

RE: Enoch Jordan
Hi Valerie,

Just heard back from Linda Reid, she is the "keeper of the book" for the Garden (aka Gardnerville) Cemetery. I am sorry to say that she does not have a listing for Enoch. We don't doubt that he is buried there, but due to the fact that the cemetery has quite a few unmarked graves, we just don't know where.

I am very sorry that I could not have been of more help.

Sue :(

RE: Enoch Jordan
Valarie, I know who to call to find out where Enoch's plot is, if he is indeed buried in the Garden Cemetary. Let me make the call and I should be able to get back to you in a day or two at the most.

RE: Enoch Jordan
I would see if they would send you a copy of the obit and add his name to the cemetery along with the obit. Note that there is no stone has been found.

RE: Enoch Jordan
I also have another person that helped me tremendously on all Douglas County queries. He suggested I go to the person that actually just recently transcribed the cemetery with up to date burials. I have emailed her and hopefully I will hear back soon. I am thinking that now I did see Enoch Jordan buried in the back of the cemetery where the older burials were, but I don't what they used for the marker. Let's see what happens on both ends.
