 | Dils & Grimes families in reference to John R Dils # 103967591
I want to start with John's father John Dils - married Permilia Mills in approximately 1853. Permilia Mills can be found on the 1850 census in Providence, Luzerne, Pennsylvania with her mother Phoebe, brothers John & Haman Mills. She then can be found on the 1860, 1870 census in Salem, Wayne, Penn. She is now married to John Dils (b. 1830) (their last name is spelled wrong on both 1860 (Diltz) and 1870 (Dilee). They have three children : William H Dils b. 1854; John R Dils b. 1856; Elmer Grant Dils b. Oct 1861 d. 28 Aug 1938. John Dilts (b. 1830 dies approximately early 1870.
Permilia married Thomas Grimes in 1870 and they have a son Frank Grimes born Nov 1870.
Permilia died in 1901.
Her son John R Dils, married Ellen Trethway on 14 Mar 1883. They have 4 children; Charles Henry Dils b. 1885 (my great-grandfather) John Stanley B 1887, Ralph R Dils b. 1889 and Edna Permilia Dils b. 1895. John R Dils dies on 6 Jul 1900.
His widow, Ellen Trethway Dils (my great-great-grandmother marries her step father in law Thomas Grimes on about 1902. They have one son Harry E Grimes b. 1904.
John R Dils # 103967916 is the son of Permilia Mills Dils Grimes # 103968227 HE is the husband of Ellen Trethway Dils Grimes # 103967916 (You currently have her as his daughter).
Harry E Grimes is the son of Thomas Grimes # 103968097 and Ellen Trethway Dils Grimes #103967916 (you currently have him as Permilia Mills Dils Grimes son, but she died before his birth).
Hopefully this can be understood and you can make the corrections. I think you for posting these memorials, as we in the family did not know where they were buried!
Thank you Wendy
PS Edna Permilia Dils Gettinger is my grandmother. | | | Wendy McIntosh

 | Kropp Hi Steve....what a surprise to find Peter and Anna Kropp headstones....I was wondering if you could provide me with the source you used to get their children....Their son, Henry, married my great aunt, Mary Stoebener Kropp. I believe that Anna may have been Peters second wife....the first being Dorothea but I have no details. Thanks for the photo....looks like it was cold out there! I am going in June to WB and will visit the family graves. | | | Angharad

 | Lemuel Morgan (1836-1890) Hi Steve! Saw your memorial to Lemuel Morgan who was buried in Shawnee Cemetery. He is my 3x great grandfather and I saw that you had William and Catherine down as his parents, I've heard talk of that but I was just curious about what sources you have on the issue. I'm just frustrated because they are all such common Welsh names! :P
Also, I was wondering if you knew when he and his wife immigrated to the U.S. Their eldest child George is mentioned in the 1870 Federal census as being born in Pennsylvania in 1860 so obviously sometime before then. If you have any insight into these issues that you would be willing to share, I'd appreciate it! :D
I am descended from Lemuel's eldest daughter Ruth who married James Bolen! | | | Donna Randall
