Professional Genealogist. Family historian and author. Stickler for details (I always appreciate polite correction/redirection).

It is my belief that the purpose of this site is to assist family members locate and connect through a picture, for families to maintain memorials, and to preserve the vital information that is disappearing every passing day.

So I find it most irritating when I come across a photo with all kinds of "enhancements" on the picture (like the contributors name); and/or the "contributor" has created a situation of frustration when their "contribution" was taken so poorly and in most cases uploaded in a way that keeps the ancestor from being able to view the name and or details of the marker. What's the point?! This is not contributing to anything. Please STOP!

RE: New Saint Peter Cemetery
You are welcome. It was a beautiful day for taking pictures. I am glad to know that the photograph was useful. I have learned a lot from gravestones, which is why I decided to take pictures for people who are not nearby.

I have added the photo to Mary's memorial.

I, unfortunately, assumed--along with the office manager--that Joseph and Helen were in the same plot. Saint Peter, as you can imagine, is a HUGE cemetery. The good thing is that it is new and the stones are very readable--unlike the cemeteries I usually visit. However, it is imperative that I have a section and plot number. Even then, they are sometimes not easy to find. The names on the plot plans by section are so small that I need to use a magnifying glass to read them.

When I put in the original request for nine grave lots, I visited the cemetery office and dropped off the names. It was two months before I received the response. Both Rogalskis were listed in the same plot, but I did not see Helen. I have requested this information so as soon as I hear back from them, I will go back and add Helen's picture.

RE: McManimon at Our Lady of Lourdes
I have the correct Kevin for you - do you have a memorial set up? I will look for your other request next time I go to the cemetery although I do have other Mukas.

I have posted the requested photos. There were a multitude of other McManimons within Our Lady of Lourdes - please let me know if you need those photos also.

RE: Joseph Zoller - St. Xavier Cemetery
Checked out the gravestone today and I could not see any other names on the other sides. Either there never was any or they are so weathered off that they are unreadable. Couldn't make out any letters or numbers!

George William Zoller.
Thank you for the updates, but I still have to show the date that's on the headstone according to Find a Grave rules. Blessings. :)

RE: Need your help
I have found some info for you.
I asked a genealogist in Belpre and she found his death cert. at the courthouse in Marietta. He died in 1955 in Marietta. The death cert says he is buried in Rockland Cem.
She checked the cemetery records and it shows that he probably has no gravestone.
I then went to the Parkersburg library and looked up his obit. It also says he is buried in Rockland Cemetery.
I have created a memorial for him and typed in the info from the obituary.

I am transferring him to you.

You could check with the Rockland Cemetery trustees to see if he does have a stone. I would guess that since he was single, his family already dead, no one was left to get a stone for him.
Let me know if I can help you further! I enjoy the hunt!!
