Basil Norman Jr.
Hi,

you left a message in memorial #56127085 for Basil Norman, Jr. You said you had more research and information?

"SGT Norman is a MIA from the Battle of Tarawa and one of 514 missing heroes for which we did extensive research to help find and return home. If you are a family member, please feel free to contact our charitable foundation for more information."

Basil Norman Jr is a cousin of mine. His father, Basil Norman, Sr., was my 2nd great grandmothers brother. I would be interested to know more about what you have discovered. Thanks for leaving the flower on his memorial.

Please email me at anewspringflower@gmail.com

Tarawa MIA - Elden William Grimm
Elden William Grimm (15 Nov 1917 - 1943) is my 1st Cousin. I would be very interested in any information you might have on his MIA status from the 1943 Battle of Tarawa?

I am grateful for the continued hard work to determine his MIA status!

PFC James Samuel Smith
I ran across your memorial for PFC Smith while researching my family through ancestry.com. His father and my grandfather were brothers, making him my first cousin once removed. As far as I can tell, none of his siblings are living. I imagine some of their descendants are alive but I do not know how to get in touch with any of them.

If you have any additional information about this cousin, I'd appreciate it if you would share it with me. Thank you,

Lucy

RE: Tarawa Unknowns
I am spreading the word. This is so important.

I was hoping that them being together in a unit would inspire someone to come forward.

The 1st Marine in your list has a memorial out there. I link it to your's - I hope that's ok.

Together We Served is where I am listing information and giving you site as the place to go with info.

Thanks for doing this. It is a grand task.

Your MIA files
I have done some research on the names, not all but maybe when I can all will be done.

Are these men all Marines?
Where they all with the 2nd Division Regiment?

I want to help all I can.
