Just recently started finding my "roots". I've always loved stories of my family, and have learned a lot through my grandmothers love of geneaology. The time I spend searching for ancestors, helps me remember how special she was and in some way keeps me connected to those things she held so dear. I hope that in some way everyone can find their "roots", and the same feelings of family that we cherish so deeply. We can't get where we are going until we know where we came from:-) I hope to start sharing more pictures and visits to nearby cemetaries so others can enjoy their "roots". Let me know if you have a request in Eufaula/ Barbour County area, as I love photography:-)|

Hi. I am sorry I am just getting back with you. I have been super busy. I will have to double check my photos from the graveyard, but I think there was only one grave that I could not find listed, and I am not sure if I ever finished working to identify it or not. I need to go back to look at my photos. There are not very many graves at this particular cemetery. It is located on private property in Lee County at the GPS coordinates listed on findagrave. It is really hard to see from the road. I could just barely see a hint of iron fencing and we called and asked the owner if there was a cemetery and he gave us permission to go out there. The cemetery is really in horrible shape. It is in a small wooded are in the middle of pasture and trees have grown up through the graves and busted a lot of them and the fences are all twisted. I had planned to go back out there one more time, but I moved before I got a chance. I will double check my photos though and see if I see any other graves, but I am pretty certain that I was able to match all but one grave with listings on findagrave. There are some more Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church cemeteries in the area, too, including one right down the road that I think is the newer cemetery for this church, but I may be remembering wrong. It was in better shape, but a lot of the cemeteries in the area are in the woods and decaying, even the ones where there are still burials happening.

Trish, I sent a second message saying that I didn't think he was Thomas and Sarah's son because of the timeline and others were saying their son was William Claiborne Ross. Sorry to have bothered you. R.J.

Write to my email, firstname.lastname@example.org. Will help where I can. I was really not offended but there is so much misinformation on the Findagrave and Ancestry.com sites. I really wish people would double check data before posting as truth because there are so many people who will take anything posted as fact and not try to prove it. I have been a genealogist for more than 34 years. I started back when all records had to be ordered from Washington DC and I have always made sure my information was correct before stating it as truth. Nothing personal here - just seen too much false information on the internet. Anyway, we can get info correct. George Washingston's will is where I got the information that all was left to Talitha's children. Looking forward to working with you.

I do not know your relationship but want you to know I have been researhcing this family since 1978 and have documented everything. Jim Tom and Beulah Irene are NOT the children of George Washington and Talitha Jowers. George was married before Talitha. In fact, when George remarried, Talitha took his CSA pension and all he had for her and her children and left nothing for Grandpa Jim Tom and Grandma Beulah.

Yes, please feel free to use any photos of your relatives that we post on Find A Grave.

I took 2 photos but only posted one because they were so similar. However, the other photo shows the death date a little better when it is enlarged. Both are hard to read. I will email both photos to you.
