I was first introduced to FindAGrave through Ancestry.com when doing research for a photo book I was working on covering the ancestors and descendents of hy husband's parents. Several volunteers throughout the US took photos for me to use in my book. I was so overwhelmed, I became a volunteer and am determined to "pay it forward" in any way I can. What better way for a senior to enjoy the fresh air, get exercise and at the same time do something productive with their time! On beautiful days, I set out with my camera and head for a cemetery. If I make any errors please do not hesitate to let me know. I will gladly transfer any memorials to family members.|
Having just read very disturbing posts on the Find A Grave Forum site, I feel compelled to make an addition to my profile. When I take pictures of headstones, I am doing this for the family members of the person for whom the memorial was created. I am not doing this for personal gain. If anyone wants to use the pictures I have taken to add to their Ancestry.com family tree, please feel free to do so. I do not consider them MY pictures. I thought the purpose of this site was for the sharing of information for now and in the future. I want my photos to be found!!!
The fact that other "volunteers" feel enraged that their pictures are "stolen" is frankly beyond my comprehension.

Thank you vey much for the photo's of her tombstone. I appreciate them and I am sure that more immediate family members will when they see them. I am not a relative, but put her memorial on Find A Grave. I requested the photo to make the memorial nicer. I have relatives in Fla. and have been fortunate enough to have other's take photo's for me. I don't volunteer to do photo's, but if we are out in a cemetery we try to fulfill requests. It is gratifying to help someone out. I thank you for your time and for being a volunteer. We enjoy taking the photo's. Thanks again.

I was out to the Richmond Cemetery this pm (the first nice day in weeks!). While there I checked on Alan E. Rhodus' stone and found that it had indeed been inscribed.

You're very welcome. It was my pleasure. You are welcome to use the photos I took of the headstones in any way you like. If I can help in any other way, please let me know. I only live 16 miles away from the cemetery.
