I came across this site as a result of the work of my Cousin, Bill Lappenbush. He had researched our paternal line back 5 generations already, so I did some searches to find my Paternal Grandmother's relatives and my Mother's relatives. I actually found quite a few, and as I find the details of other extended family members I'll continue adding to this. What a great tool to keep a record of our heritage, and it doesn't cost a fortune like other sites.
I've corresponded with a few nice people on this site already as well, it's heartening to see that altruism is still alive and well. I expect that I will have plenty of chances to reciprocate in the future.
RE: Augusta Klapstein I do not have a maiden name for Augusta. According to the 1916 census: in Strathcona, Alberta, household members included: William Klapstein, 33, Augusta Klapstein 30, Reuben Klapstein 10, Harry Klapstein 7, Stanley Klapstein 5, Norman Klapstein 1. I have census records for an Emil Klapstein but have not linked him to my family yet. I will keep digging . Let me know if you find any further information as well.
RE: family history I wish I had not put the book back in the library. However if you would like to email me and send a list of names you are interested in I can reborrow the book and scan the relevant pages for you and then email them to you, firstname.lastname@example.org I love your suggestion of meeting in a cemetery sometime when you are down this way.
