Macedonia Church claims
Just wanted to let you know that I was at Macedonia Church this afternoon taking pictures. I took several photos that you had you claimed, not realizing you'd claimed them ... which must've happened after I'd placed my first claims today. Findagrave limits the number of claims one person can make at a time, so I intended to come back this evening, post the pics for the requests I'd claimed, then claim the rest and post pics for them. In particular I've posted Cornwell grave pics, since the requestor asked for pics of any Cornwell graves in the cemetery, but I also took a few others. It's a small cemetery and I figured I'd take as many of the photos requested as I could find while I was there. My point ... I am sorry that I took pics for requests that you'd claimed. It was not my intention to be grabby, only helpful. I've posted those pics to the memorials, but will remove them if you'd prefer to go and take pics yourself for those you've claimed. Again ... my apologies.

Here is what Paul sent to me.

Probably not much help. There is a Henry C. listed in the 1870 census under Michael and Elizabeth (Kunkle) Kifer. In 1860 he is simply listed as Henry. Conventional wisdom is that this was actually Henry J.[ KIFER, Henry J of Penn d 7-29-1879 age 28yrs 9mos 7das. TRIBUNE - HERALD (8-12-1879)]

I see no record of a Walter in either first or middle name attached to any Michael Kifer. According to all census data Henry J. and Rachel Altman had two children, Laura Minerva and Hiram Robert.

According to some internet listings, Rachel married an Alpheus Jacob Stough and they had a child, Harry C. Stough, b. ca 1885.

Nora, can you tell me who the wives were, that might help me a little. I have sent your message to another Kifer researcher to see if he can tell us anything.

Sorry to say I don't have a thing on the Kifer family you are looking for. Do you know where they are from?

Frederick Shurie
Hi Nora---

I just got back in town...was Frederick your grandfather or your great-grandfather, as shown on the memorial page? I am very good friends of his grandson's family, Ronald Shurie (Andrew's son)and also I am distantly related through Andrew's wife, Lillian. Who were your parents and where do you fit into this tree? It is nice to make a connection!

Robert Miller photo request in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, WV

I wanted to let you know that I have photographed 100% of Mt. Tabor Cemetery and posted all stones to Find A Grave. There is always a possibility that I missed a stone, or that the stone is unreadable so I could not determine who to post it to or to create a memorial.

I live in Europe now so can't go back over and do a double check for you. I'll go through my pictures on my personal machine and see if there are any questionable ones (in their own directory for Mt. Tabor) and see if knowing a name helps identify any of them.

I can't do this right now as I'm traveling, but will try and look at them over the weekend.
