Bio and Links
Bio Photo Talking with my father about our ancestors and the family mysteries he still hadn't solved got me hooked on genealogy. My mother told me amazing stories about her folks and I knew I had to find out all I could about them too. I inherited all their family photographs, many of them without any form of identification. I love a good puzzle, even though I know I can't possibly finish this one.

Hicksons
Dear JP
I believe the Hicksons in Marion/Reddick Florida are relatives of my husband. His mother was Estella Braxton. Estella's birth parents: Hanna Hickson who married Hansford Braxton. We have been told that Hanna died in childbirth with Estella. So Estella grew up in Reddik/Marion with her grandmother Hanna Hickson of Barnwell South Carolina.. any chance you know if/how Hanna Hickson is related?? My email is

Kate Cumming Connection
Hi, I'm a Civil War reenactor attached to the Division 1 Field Hospital out here in Southern California, and I reenact as Kate Cumming. I must admit, I fairly wept when I saw Miss Cumming has a living relative that I might be able to contact. I try my best to give as accurate a portrayal as possible, to honor Miss Cumming's memory, courage, spirit, and fortitude. I would like very much to hear more about your family, if you would care to contact me.
This is a recent photo from an event we did. I'm not left-handed - I flipped the image so it would appear as if it were taken on an 1860s camera.

RE: William and Mary Patton
James Tedford Patton was born about 1866 in Virginia. Still researching more info but I do know he was on a 1910 Census with his syblings. His grandparents on his mother's side are: Alexander Tedford Barclay April 05, 1797 - 1848 & Mary "Polly" Eleanor Paxton 1810 - November 30, 1883 all from Virginia. I have a lot of Paxtons in my tree too as my 6th great grand aunt married into the Paxton family. I am still working on the Barclay branch too. My tree on Ancestry.com is Virginia's Fox Family Tree_1

RE: William and Mary Patton
Well that didn't take very long. Judge James Trice Patton is the husband of my 3rd cousin 5x removed with Agnes M. Barclay being my cousin. Small world. Virginia

RE: William and Mary Patton
We just might be cousins. I have a James Patton who married a Agnes M. Barclay [DOB Bef. 1847] and they had seven children: Archibald, Bessie, Mary, McClung, Tedford, Trice, & William. My source was "The Paxtons" by W. M. Paxton, of Platte City, MO. I hadn't researched this branch, I seem to have so many, and what Mr. Paxton had was very little. Agnes' mother was a Paxton. My guess is we are cousins as McClung is a very important surname for us. I'll see what my ancestry.com tree pulls up. Keep in touch, Virginia

Take good care of them. Although I have Patton's in my family tree I don't have these three lovely people. Maybe after your updates I will end up with a link to them as well. They are buried in the same cemetery as my parents and I am there every year for the annual family gathering in August just next door. Virginia

No Guts, No Glory
I stopped by....
the cemetery and it was a mess. Cans, bottles, shoes, and an old pallet. The trees were saplings, but still a mess. I gathered some photos for you...the photo that you posted of the cemetery is EXACTLY how it looks today.

No Guts, No Glory
Hello
I had a delivery to make up in McIntosh today (my wife owns a pharmacy) and I thought I would look up your cemetery while I was up there. I went down both E & W 190th (just to be complete) and saw no wrought iron fence either side. Could it be at another road? Please advise...MANY THANKS!
