You're welcome for the photos. The first photo for Mrs. Ensminger was in place prior to Major Ensminger's death with the information engraved on the stone (wife of Major Ensminger). After his death he is buried adjacent to her and a new stone is placed at the grave site. The new stone is engraved with his information on the front of the stone and her information is engraved on the back of the stone. In some cases if the veteran is buried prior to the death of the spouse the same stone is used and the information for the spouse is engraved on the back of the original stone. The front of the stone faces the deceased.
For the grass, or lack there of, is due to the burial. I believe the cemetery workers will replace the grass in a timely manner. I have seen grave sites of a recent death with the grass sod in place to cover the area.
Hopefully this answers your questions, if you have any other questions please fill free to contact me.

Thank you very much for being considerate in asking if you could use the photo.
If you want to add Major Ensminger's memorial I will put it on my watch list and add the photo when the permanent marker has been installed, no need for a request. If you want me to add his memorial leave me a message.
