|Dale Schaefer||John DeWitt Montgomery/Elmwood|
Hi...in regard to your photo request. The Elmwood records show a J.D. Montgomery being buried on 9-22-1878. His age was listed as 42. He died of Yellow Fever and was buried in Chapel Hill Public Lot #2 Sp 246. All of the gravestones in this section have been photographed and placed on Find A Grave, so I'm assuming his grave is unmarked. If you feel that this is your guy I can post a pic of the section, or you can remove the photo request. Let me know. Thanks.

How ironic that you requested Mr.Sackett. I was just working on him and had his pictures. His stone is one in this section that is down, as are many others. I'm trying to find out exactly where they belong and to reset them when possible.

I've been looking for a long time too. I just got lucky today. It appears that the stone was scribed with a nail. I have probably walked past it a dozen times. Glad that I finally found it.

I checked the listed sections and lots for the Randles. None are marked.
