Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born in Salt Lake City, UT and raised in Murray, UT. I lived in Murray for 24 years and have since lived in Salt Lake City, Taylorsville, South Ogden, and now Vernal, UT with my wife, her two daughters, and our one daughter we have together. I also have two sons from my previous marriage who live in West Valley City, UT with their mother.

I'm the youngest of five children and the only boy. My father, John Emanuel Sturm (Find A Grave Memorial# 99744327), was killed in a car accident three months before I was born, which helped create an interest in genealogy and family history right from the start. I've researched both sides of my family (Sturm on my dad's side, Delaney on my mom's) and also claim ancestry with Schloz/Scholz, Lamper, Losser, Hone, Taylor, Nottage lines. My wife, Sarah K Allen Sturm, grew up in Ogden and Morgan (Peterson), UT and shares ancestry with the Allen and Butler lines.

I love researching family history and sharing what I have, in addition to finding long-lost relatives, both living and deceased. I've created and maintain three family history groups on Facebook in hopes of finding relatives looking to share the same information, just search for any of the following:

Descendants of Johann Christian Andreas Sturm
Descendants of William P. Delaney and Bridget Chapman
Descendants of James Brace Lamper

Blaine & Elaine Berger
RE: Riley Family
Blaine did not know Bud personally and had no contact with him. Blaine will try and find someone who knew Bud, and we will let you know if they are willing to share information.

A little more information - John Berger was my husbands (Blaine) great uncle. We have a lot of histoy and photo's of him and his family. Blaine knew many of the family around Bud's age.

I don't know how I missed linking Maggie to her parents. Thanks for sending the links. I have quite a few photo's of the Riley family. Do you live in or around Murray? If so perhaps you would be interested in looking at them. Let me know.

You are most welcome. It gives me great pleasure to help families with their family history records. Cemeteries often represent the critical link for where to search for further information.

Best wishes in your genealogy work,

RE: Levi & Lucretia Wood Moore
Hi John, Do you know who Levi or Lucretia's parents were? Their son Albert married my gr gr gr aunt, Lucy Jane Converse. I didn't know they had a daughter Lucretia, but I could only account for six of their seven children who grew to maturity. When was she born, and who did she marry?

RE: Lucille Isabell Schmidt Broadbent
Hi John,

Thank you for the info, I've linked her to her mother, Margaret. So, am I to understand that George Sturm raised her because he was married to her mother at the time she died, but is not her biological father? If so, do we know who her father is so I can link them?

Thank you again,
Annie :)

RE: Acacia Park Cemetery Photo Request
John - Glad I could be so helpful! And I'm glad to transfer the memorials. I always feel memorials are better off in the hands of family, even if they don't fall into Find A Grave's "4 Generation" rule.

As for living relatives, I'm sure it would be possible to find someone, especially if they're still in the Chicago area. I would probably start by finding decendants in the census, then maybe using the Chicago city directories if necessary. If I were really having trouble, I might see if the funeral home is still around and willing to provide some information.

If you're interested in enlisting my services, I would be more than happy to give you a hand. If so, just shoot me an e-mail at
