I'm the Daughter of Carole Ensor who died Dec.12th, 1980. She was only 39 & I was only 15. She passed away of Lung Cancer in Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN. where I reside now. |
My Mother & I were members of First Baptist Church in Holly Springs & she worked at the United Community Action Office. Later she worked at The South Reporter until she learned of her Cancer.
Her death left me devastated, alone & bewildered. Then my Grandmother came to live with me but she had liver Cancer & later died in Atlanta. Left alone in the home she bought in Greenbriar, the word got out that I had dropped out of school (depressed) & had no supervision. Someone suggested that I get the County Clerk (Flick Ash) to be my legal guardian. He agreed & shortly there after I married so I wouldn't be alone. I was then legally considered an adult. I stayed married for 16 years. After my divorce, I sold the house & moved back to Memphis. Holly Springs will always be home to me.
It was a horrible experience to go through but the people of Holly Springs were very sympathetic & generous & I'm thankful for all the help I received. :)

Hello Evelyn, welcome to FindaGrave and you are more than welcome for the flowers I left. Sorry, I did not know your mother and as I search the cemeteries for some of my relatives I often leave flowers at memorials. Your mother is a beautiful lady as well as you and you both have a great testimony. Good luck in your searching.
