|Iaed||RE: iowa falls|
Thanks for the kind words. I have photos of everything I have posted in Iowa Falls but have not processed most of them yet. If there are any you're particularly interested in, let me know. Also, no relatives here so happy to make transfers if you want them.

I transferred memorial to your care as I am not a family member.

Thank you for putting that beautiful photo of Mary on her memorial. Would you like me to transfer this memorial to you?

Linked your peeps, no relation, just a photo taker. want a transfer, resend the links. You should click the request photo for the parents.
PS - Peter Cole, who is John's son, and Elizabeth Cole, who is John's wife, are also my ancestors. I'd be happy to adopt their memorials as well. I'd also be interested in photos of these headstones if you have them. Thanks so much!

Hello! I'm a descendant of John Cole, buried in Lower English Cemetery, and I have been tracing his family tree for several years. I'm curious if you have a photo of his headstone? I also see that his memorial is "up for adoption" - I'm happy to take it over.

|None to be forgotten||Anna Spies|
I will gladly transfer Anna to you as soon as I finish this message.
Anna Christina Spies, born in Bettendorf, Luxembourg was my 4th great grandmother. She married Dominik Pfeiffer and had three children: Maria, Catharina, and Johann Peter. She died in 1789.
I realize these surnames were common in Germany but just thought I'd pass along the info in case you happen upon her in your ancestry. - Cindy
|Iaed||RE: Michael Elsenbast|
Thank you for the interesting story about Michael Elsenbast and for clearing up the confusion. I have deleted the memorial I created and added the photo of the second monument to the memorial you are maintaining. You might want to explain in the notes section why there are two monuments. If you want me to do anything different with the photos, let me know.
I am not related, but noticed this summer that there were a lot of unfulfilled requests for photos in this cemetery, so I spent a day shooting the whole cemetery and the adjoining Graettinger City Cemetery and am slowly getting them posted. Many of the memorials in St. Jacob's were created by someone who I think was working from a list transcribed by someone else, or perhaps church records, and the information often does not agree with what is on the tombstones, so I have been suggesting corrections whenever I find discrepancies.
I am a native of Palo Alto County but have not lived there since 1961. I'm making a retirement project out of photographing every gravestone in the county that is not already on Find A Grave and have made quite a bit of progress in photography over the past two summers and in posting what I've shot during the winters.
Congratulations on the new grandchildren! Don't apologize from being distracted from Find A Grave--it's always a work in progress that will wait until you have time. I'm spending the afternoon with my grandchildren who are 5, 7, and 8 and really looking forward to it.
Thanks again for your efforts on Find a Grave.
