I've lived and worked all my life in Cullompton whilst raising 4 children. I've always been interested in genealogy but didn't get involved until the death of a brother in 2010. I became a member with F.A.G after tracing family to America and appreciated finding their headstones - in the absence of photo's - it puts a face to the name. Following the death of a son - in 2013 - I decided to fall in with the many other's who actually take the photo's, and will make every effort to fulfill your request. I don't add any speculated data, edits must contain 'precise' data found on headstones, records, indexes or submitted by relatives. Ask if you want help with any research but 'Please' limit it to Devon. |
Please note: Cullompton Cemetery does not have plot locations of burials prior to 1916, - much of which has been re-interred - these memorials can not be found unless accompanied by a headstone - which have already been photographed.

Hello from the Wild West of the USA
As you can see, my surname is SNOW and from DNA testing & family genealogy I know I descend from a Nicholas Snow who emigrated from England to Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1623 - yes, nearly 400 years ago. Our family genealogy, alas, has "stopped" at the trans-Atlantic "brick wall" as no one has been able to find Nicholas' parents in England (many false trails I won't go into here). Now, via a whole chain of coincidences (do they exist ? I wonder!) I find this F.A.G. Memorial and also that his son was Walter (that's my Dad's name!).... I know Somerset is not Devon but is there any way to find out further back who "your" Oare, Somerset, UK, Nicholas Snow's ancestors were ? I spent 3 days in the Hampshire, UK archives in July but alas doubt I will be able to get to Britain in 2016. Do you have other cemetery records for this family? Or where do you think I should seek? Thank you for any help/suggestions you can offer. A distant Snow relation who lives in Arizona, USA. My email is on my contributor page for a private reply. OH yes, can I copy your Photo of this church plaque for my Tree ?? Thank you! Chet Snow

You have taken a photo of Eliza Melhuish's grave at All Saints Churchyard
D: July 2 1902
I have been trying to read what the headstone says but even when I blow it up I still can't read it. Would you be able to tell me exactly what it says please that would be very much appreciated.
