Bio and Links
Bio Photo I've been researching my family's East Texas roots for the last several years, focusing on the Dickey, Griffin, and Welsh family lines. Too much has been lost of the past for those who weren't the movers and shakers of the world, but did their part to make this nation the great place it became. May the memorials and photos here help to keep the past alive in the minds of their descendants.

I do not have a problem with transferring a memorial if you are directly related. I welcome any corrections and additions to the listings I have made.

Hi. I have transferred his memorial to you. There is also one for his wife. Please let me know if you would like that transferred as well.

Hi I looked and did not see her with a marker either. She would be in the grassy area to the most upper left of the picture

I put in a request for Find A Grave to mark my mother's Ca memorial as a cenotaph. Thanks for the information, I was wondering what could be done in her case.

RE: Francis Marion Floyd

Thanks. The marker that was ordered for him is the large upright V pointed Confederate marker. He is the 4th great uncle for a woman who my wife is assisting with an application for membership in the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

This is the second incident of this kind that I have found, where a marker was approved and shipped, but we cannot locate the headstone.

Thanks again.

Information was taken from Application For Headstone Or Marker, for F.M. Floyd, Private, Company D, 38th Regiment, Mississippi Cavalry. Application was made by Joseph Redhead (friend). dated 6/30/1940. Name of Cemetery - Redhead, 3 Miles S. Centreville, Miss. Headstone was an Upright Marble Headstone. Shown as shipped to Joseph Redhead, Centreville, Miss on 9/12/1940.
Records on for F. M. Floyd.

I guess it never got placed in the cemetery.

RE: William B Wilson
Do we know who might have placed the markers there or where they might have been purchased?
