Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm new to ancestry research and documentation. I've only been doing research, seriously, for about 3 years, and organized documentation less than that. Honestly, a lot of that time has been stumbling. I now truly believe stumbling promotes learning, albeit the hard way. I bitterly regret not starting this adventure 40 years ago, while I still had plenty of relatives to talk to.

I'm interested in several families, with the state of Georgia as my roots, starting with Graves, and moving on to Wellborn, Whatley, and Nations. The branches begin to thicken out from there.

I deeply appreciate and respect everyone's kind willingness to help. Accordingly, I am also willing to help.

RE: Helen Wellborn Mann
Your very welcome. There was only the headstone and no foot marker. If you need anything else, please feel free to let me know.

Herbert Welborn at Westview
Hello
I see your request for a photo on findagrave for Westview Cemetery. I am familiar with that cemetery and would be happy to look for you. Would you please call the cemetery office at 404-755-6611 to find out the section and lot numbers for your request? And please also confirm there is actually a marker. The office is reluctant to give me that information and in fact has threatened to charge me for it. They do however give it easily to relatives. The cemetery is massive and that section/lot information will help me narrow the search.
Thanks
Phil

RE: Ehrhart photo requests
Well, that's very curious that the office says they don't Rows because they specifically gave me roll numbers when I inquired about my various family members and some friends' grave locations.
For example, they specifically sent me details in this kind of format:
Ascension Section, Section 105, Row 17, Grave X
and
Infant of Prague Section, Section 25, Row 5, Grave X
But thank you for that information. I'll add it to the memorials.
The cemetery I work extensively is over 150 years old and many of the sections have been renamed many times apparently at the whim of sextons and/or directors. It's a nightmare figuring out where some burials are because we only have 8% of the gravestones still legible. Most are completely gone, some cannot be read at all.
If our original handwritten burial ledger says someone was buried in Section 5, that might mean what is now called 5 (laid out in lots), or 5 (laid out in rows, or 5.1 (laid out in rows), or 5.2 (laid out in rows). There are also sections at one time designated 5SW and other variants

RE: Ehrhart photo requests
Thank you for letting me know. Sounds like Lenexa got more snow than Midtown KCMO did. Here it just looks like a little bit of tiny snowy BB balls. Not enough to hide anything. Ha!
Anyhow, thanks for the offer to try to find these gravestones on a better day. They are the parents and grandmother of one of my best friends from high school. Ray was a terrific jazz musician.
I have found the location of the graves for Ray (Ascension Row 26) and for his mother Amelia (Section Ascension Row 5). I imagine Ray's wife is probably buried by him.
I saw Ray's grave years ago, before I found Find A Grave, when I was walking around by my father's grave in the Ascension section. I remember Ray's has a military gravestone.
If you don't know where the Ascension area is, let me know and I'll try to give decent directions.
Looking forward to these images. Stay warm!

Posting a Copied Photo
I received your photo request of Madessta Mae Engstrand Logan in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, Johnson County, Kansas. I noticed you posted a photo of the headstone. I know you have only been a volunteer for Find A Grave for about 1 year and a half, but you need to know that you cannot post photos taken off other web sites. This headstone picture you copied off The Digital Cemetery web site.

I copied this off the FAQ of Find A Grave:

The copyright of all photos posted to Find A Grave remains with the original submitter. No use of photos for any other website or personal use is given without prior consent of the original submitter.

I hope this helps,
