RE: Something isn't right
I found a MN Death Certificate index for Catherine Howes. Cert # 1904-37-781
Death February 15, 1904
County of Death: Hennepin
Date of birth 1826 England.
I will try to get a copy of the death certificate which will indicate where she was buried. I'll do that on Saturday or Sunday at the Historical society. They do not charge.

RE: Something isn't right
Wife Catherine was alive in 1880 in the census. In addition they had another daughter - a 2nd daughter they named Catherine who was 23 in 1880 so she was born in 1857. if you email me direct at Merr.Carlson@gmail.com I will send you the census copy. They also had another daughter and another son. I am guessing that after father Thomas passed, the remaining children may have moved away from this immediate area and mother went with one of them. They may also be in Lakeside Cemetery.

RE: Something isn't right
The stone in the cemetery is of a daughter age 1 year 6 mos. I stopped at the church today. They gave no record of a wife for Thomas. Is it possible she remarried after Thomas died? also from church records: Thomas Charles howes died 12/12/1882 is recorded as t c howes and simply as Charles howes.

RE: Thanks
It was my pleasure. I intend to return and make a rubbing of all sides of the stone. There is writing on another side of the marker but I can't make it out. I'll send you a picture and see if you can make it out

RE: AJ Hoffman
You are more than welcome. They are buried in the middle of about 12 "Dee" family members. I assume they are all Annie's family.

RE: Woodlawn Cemetery
Hi Phil an thanks for writing. Yes, I agree this needs to be resolved and thank you for bringing it to my attention. I can assure you that these two cemeteries are completely two separate cemeteries. The Concord Corners Cemetery has been left in ruin and is not longer used. The Woodlawn Cemetery is the newer of the two and they are within a mile apart. I have been told by my Grand parents that some of the burials in Concord Corners were removed and interred into the newer Woodlawn Cemetery but to my knowledge, no list or record was made so it's difficult to determine who is where. I will see what I can do to correct the problem. Like you, I just want to get it right. I think these people deserve that. I have been to both cemeteries and do not live that far from them. I did not even know that the Concord Corners Cemetery existed until I was shown by my Grandfather. It is in a very secluded location and not many know how to find it. I will try and get back to you on this.
