Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a retired teacher who has been working on my genealogy since the mid 90s. The families I'm researching are Kelley/Kelly, Cannon, Ulmer, Perritt, Mullis, and Fordham. My Kelley/Kelly, Cannon, Ulmer, and Perritt families resided in southwest Georgia and the panhandle counties of Florida that border the Georgia counties. The Mullis and Fordham families resided in middle Georgia counties after migrating from England through Virginia, Maryland, and the Carolinas.

Ulmer Coldbrook Plantation
Hi I am a descendant of the Ulmers as well. I see you have a request for a picture of one of your descendants that is buried at the Previous Site of the Coldbrook Plantation.

I read that the property that the Ulmer Cementery is located is private property and the owner will not allow anyone to go on the property to repair headstones etc. It is basically an abandoned cemetery from what I could find out. I live about 5 hours from the Cemetery.

You are welcome. I graduated from Effingham County HS 30 years ago and I remember Mr. Mullis as the music teacher.

RE: Carter photos
I created Find A Grave sites for Alexander Campbell Ulmer, Adarene Keller Ulmer and Edith Carter 1912-1916 and added photos to all of them. I also added the biographical information you sent me as added that for the Ulmers and the Carters.
Since someone else had already created Find A Grave sites for James Nottingham Carter, Edith Ruby Ulmer Carter and James Nottingham Carter, Jr. I added the information to the cutline of the picture of their gravestones at the top of the stack.

Carter requests
My wife and I went down to Bonaventure today and found a couple of people that were buried in the plot but weren't on your request list.
There was another Edith Carter 1912-1916 and an Alexander C. Ulmer and his wife. I think his dates were 1850-1893. It was hard to tell because the writing was faint.
I also couldn't tell what his wife's name was. They had her listed in the city burial records as Mrs. A.C. Ulmer. I think her first name may be Ada and her dates were 1848-1915, but I'm not sure. Could you please give me the correct information?
I assume that the Edith Carter 1912-1916 was the daughter of Edith Ulmer Carter 1881-1965. I was going to post pictures for her as well as Alexander C. Ulmer and his wife.

Cordially yours,
Jim Thomas
