Hi, Marcia! Thank you so much for the wealth of information concerning the Bryan families. It's amazing how these large families, mostly farmers, broke the land and survived against many odds. I will be glad to correct the errors. Thanks again, Bill

RE: John A. Johnson
in this 1900 census I just think that it is a big coincidence that Harry birth date is April 1893. Can't trace him from here, but in 1930 you find his mother, Ida in Philadelphia, with Albert and Edna Kuhne, which is her daughter. Just seemed like a big coincidence. But, I can't explain why John is on this census and, with a Jun 1870 birth date. Arrgh too many questions, not enough answers. NOt sure why I can't find Harry in later years..

Did go from that census, and found Eva Wemyss Johnson, who was listed as a daughter and her father is listed in birth index as John A Johnson, and she was born in Cumberland County

found this, hope you can see this...
Wilmington NC in 1900
then Ida is widowed in 1930 and living in Philadelphia and living with her daughter and son in law. This would go along with Harry being in PA in the 40's.

RE: John A. Johnson
Is Harry Elmer your father? Do you know where he is buried or his date of birth and death? This might help. We will see what else we can find. Check out the family though, it is coming together very well!
Thanks, Vonna

RE: John A. Johnson
Marcia, I have linked the family best I can, at least with the boys. By the process of elimination, Harry's father had to be John A. Johnson d. 1895. There is no 1890 census, so we don't know who he married, etc. and there is no death certificate for more info.

Do you have a death certificate for Harry? A death date, or location? THis might help to trace back to his father and mother...

Let me know and I will see if I can dig anything else up!

HOpe this helps, Vonna
