Thank you for your time and for checking with the cemetery office and confirming that this is an unmarked grave.

I would appreciate it if you had any pictures of Jim. He was the closest thing I had to a father!

RE: Thanks
If it isn't too much trouble, it would be great to have a photo of August's grave on a more sunny day. You got a brighter photo of the close up and that is helpful. It is hard to tell, but it looks like there may be a small inscription below the date - or it may just be decoration. Perhaps you can tell if you visit again.

One more thing. If you do happen to go back, John Kadau's grave doesn't have a lot of contrast either. It is hard to verify the first date. Would you please try and get a photo that shows the first date clearly - I believe it is Oct. 3, 1844.

Thanks very much for your help. Someday I hope to visit the Alpena / Long Rapids area. There is a lot of my ancestor's immigrant history there. The more I research, the more I learn about the area.

Thanks very much for the photos of the headstones of John and August Kadau - especially on what looked like a cold, wintery day. It is great to actually see the evidence of your ancestors.

RE: Re: Genevieve Campbell Hall
You're welcome! I always make it a point to look around for headstones with the same last name, on the chance that they'd be related.

RE: Re: Genevieve Campbell Hall
Happy to have helped. Did you notice that I had also uploaded the headstone photo of Floyd Hall(1902-1952)? He's buried next to Genevieve--perhaps a relative?

RE: transfers
If you need any more please let me know. It is always good to have them with family or someone who knows about their lives.
