I grew up with Arlington Cemetery as my back yard. I was usually there walking around looking looking for old stones and wondering what that persons life was like. My girlfriend Kim was recently murdered by her ex-husband. Going to the cemetery has taken on a whole new meaning now.
Please remove the photo from memorial #70783062 for William R Lord. It is actually for William R Lord, Jr #70783063 which already has a photo posted. We had a family member bring this to our attention and are attempting to remedy the situation to avoid confusion in the future.
Thanks for all you do for the Find A Grave community and good luck with your family history research.
Sarah/Sally Lord Marker Nick - Thank you so much for looking for her gravestone. Regrettably, I hadn't checked my requests in some time as a family member died. I will do better in the future and realize how important it is. Most Sincerely, Carolyn
Arlington Cemetery While looking at the photo requests for Arlington Cemetery I clicked on the problem you reported in locating the marker for Sally A. Lord. She is Memorial # 70783048.
You'd mentioned finding the Lord marker that had William and Sarah on it. Sally was often a nickname for Sarah. The reason that you didn't find a marker with Sally Lord on it was that she was listed as Sarah Lord instead.
I have no connection to any members of the Lord family. I have one photo request at Arlington Cemetery. It is the oldest, 15 Jun 2011, of the 193 listed. It is for Walter Scott Bennett, Memorial # 28705265.
Thanks for being a Photo Volunteer !
I was sorry to hear about the death of your girlfriend.
Alfred Andrew Cook Thank you so much for the photo. My husband and I sincerely appreciate your efforts. The photo helps to confirm information about Alfred and his family that was somewhat sketchy at best. Again, sincerest thanks. Carol Hardman
