I am borrowing this from another member as it speaks so true :)|
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.
Please leave a message or email me. Those memorials at this point that I manage are those of family & I am not currently transferring for that reason.

De nada, Rayne...I've spent quite a bit of time in Mountain View and was sad that MANY of the markers are gone or not readable...lots of those metal mortuary markers, but so rusted that they cannot be read or have the data card missing. I did so wish it was different, but do not even know who might have records/charts that show where each person is. I wish you more success in following other family trails ☻

Please check the memorial number and send me the correct one for Nancy E Lambert; or I could transfer Dorothy Miller's memorial to you and you can link them.

You are very welcome. I had initially claimed the memorials, so I posted the picture that Ross sent me as well. I'm glad I could be of help.

I have re-sent the photos I sent you in October. They were already in Find a Grave. The general photos of the cemetery may show you how hard it could be to locate an unmarked grave. Lots of brush and blown sand. You might contact the county, they may be able to tell you the exact location of the grave. Luck to you in your search.

My husband & I went to Thompson Springs Cemetery to try to photograph Emer's grave. We walked the whole cemetery and could only find 7 of the 23 burials. We took many pictures of the cemetery and would gladly send them to you if you are interested. It is surrounded by a split rail fence and has a lot of drifted sand and sage brush. We photoed all the grave stones we could find. We did no digging or sweeping or prodding and did not try to go to the county clerk. If you'd like the photos, give me your e-mail address and I'll send them to you.
