I have been doing family research for 20 years, identifying photos, traveling to Long Island and Connecticut, and meeting new relatives. I am a member of the Suffolk County Historical Society in Riverhead, NY, the Southold Historical Society in Southold, NY and the Killingly Historical Society in Danielson, CT. My father's ancestors are from Long Island, and my mother's from Killingly, CT. I have uncovered several grave markers long since buried, and have taken hundreds of photos of cemetery markers and marker transcriptions, along with taking the GPS coordinates. I have shared my information with the many contributors on findagrave through the editing process. This continues to be very time consuming as many of the headstones need to be cleaned before they can be identified. I currently live in CA, and travel each summer by train to the East coast for further research.
