I stumbled across this site by doing a google search on my grandfather's grave. The ground was too hard to bury him when he died. With me living in Kansas (now Oklahoma) and his grave in Wyoming, I've never made it back up to see it. So, when I saw it here, I was so excited to see that people were going out, volunteering their time, to take pictures for people. It was like I had found a new toy! I've found tons of my ancestor's graves. I've spent hours looking up family members and finding graves of ones that I've never seen before. This is so exciting! Thank you to all who has posted information and pictures. It has been such a blessing to me. :-)
Here's a list of surnames that I'm a direct descendant of and have info on:
Paternal: Conner Brookshire Sansoucie
Maternal: McKay Lawson Foulk Wolfe DeWeese
My husband's, David Wright Sr., line: Paternal: Wright Maternal: Beaver, Bowen
I expect these list to grow as we search more. :) I do have trees, 1 for me and 1 for my husband, on Ancestry.com.

 | RE: McKay Line The McKay's were in Virginia and part of the Virginia Land Company in the late 1600's. Robert McKay was partners with Robert Green, Howard Duff and Joist Hite. They sued Lord Fairfax for reneging on a 100,000 acre land grant. The suit was not settled until the mid 1800's. Robert T. (his grandson) gave up the fight and moved to Indiana in 1811.
My Salem Witch Trials ancestors are the Towne's: Rebecca Towne Nurse hung 19 Jul 1692 and Mary Towne Estey hung 22 Sep 1692. Rebecca is my 10th great-grandmother. | | |
