RE: Peter Rasmussen
Good idea. Did the same for an uncle of mine who died in 1920. Small country cemetery in northern Iowa. It can be done. Good Luck!

RE: Peter Rasmussen
To tell you the truth...I didn't even go to Section "D" and look in the north half of Lot 21. That's my MISTAKE! Was tramping around in the snow looking for eight markers.

I'll go back, if we don't get snow, and check "D". If I do find Peter, I'll certainly let the Fort Howard office staff know. Thanks for responding!

Peter Rasmussen
Was at Fort Howard Memorial Park today. The office staff lady was very helpful and took a lot of time looking up and making maps of each of the eight markers I was looking for. She, however, could not locate a record of a memorial/marker for one Peter Rasmussen, 1866 - 1965. Sorry! Perhaps a search of the Brown County courthouse Death (burial) records will turn-up a new lead?

Peter Rasmussen
Has anyone bothered to check with the people in the office at Fort Howard Memorial Park? Either they would have a mapping and possible burial record of your Peter Rasmussen or they should know who might hold those records, like a sexton or cemetery caretaker. This is a very large cemetery but I believe it is well documented. Will call there tomorrow (Feb. 10) to learn if mappings or burial records exist.

RE: request for sheldon and borden
I actually posted the photos for Nancy early this morning before the request came through...sorry about that one. But if you want me to fulfill the requests then you have to unclaim them so I can then claim them. That way the request will show as fulfilled.

request for sheldon and borden
You claimed the requests for sheldon and borden out at nuevo memory gardens in Ramona. I was just out there yesterday taking photos for the rest of the sheldon family and I have those photographs. If you would like I can send the photos via email and you can post them. If you would rather take them yourself, then I'll let you know that the whole sheldon family is located right behind the little office at the top of the hill.

All the best,

RE: Rasmus Hansen
I blew up the photo in my picture program, and this is what it says on the bottom:

Maren Hansen
Born in Denmark
Aug 7, 1821
Died Mar 19, 1898
Gone to a better home

I added the photo to her memorial also. Maren is spelled with an "e" on the headstone but with an "i" on the memorial.
I would take another photo, but I don't live close. My husband's ancestors are buried in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, so we drove there for Memorial Day and took Find-A-Grave photos while there. If you want me to remove the photo so you can request another one, I would be glad to do that. Just let me know.

RE: Rasmus Hansen
You're welcome! I know the photo isn't great, but the headstone is hard to read. I took the picture from the side hoping that would help.
