If you have sent me an edit that I haven't responded to, I may not have noticed it. Please leave a public message to trigger an automated email telling me to check for an edit if you are waiting for me to respond.

I have posted many pictures I have taken of headstones and copies of family photos that I own. I wanted to share them publicly, and I know people download them for personal use. I have seen my photos posted on the internet as well by other people. Please do not take credit for my photos on another website.

RE: Downer Ivey 23977464
you are very welcome. It breaks my heart whenever there is an unmarked grave. Hope your research continues to go well.

Thanks for the compliment, Amy. I only do what I would hope someone would do for me. I am always sad when a grave is unmarked!

James F Reed at Liberty
I checked our Clerk of Court files for James Reed & found only an 1870 "equity" case which shows numerous times his name as J.F. Reed or Jas. F. Reed, or James F. Reed & his wife, Nancy, also mentioned. I went back to Liberty this afternoon & took a better picture & posted it which clearly shows now his middle initial is "F." There is no engraving between the period and the F. I am satisfied that his middle initial is F., not R., & I think it is appropriate to change your posting back to James F. Reed. The only other thing I can do is search the deed index to see if there is any record that actually shows his middle name.

James Reed at Liberty Cemetery
His marriage record says J.F.Reed married to Nancy Pack. No death record. I didn't find obituary in the 2 Knoxville newspapers. I will check further this Thursday in Knoxville for will/probate & land deed, & get back to you later this week.

RE: 147595115 James Reed
Yes, you are right, thanks for looking at it better. I will check obituary, original marriage record, death record, etc., to see if I can find record of middle initial, this Saturday.

Hester Fowler
Photographed what I believe are the remnants of marker for Hester Fowler at Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery. This stone is badly crumbled and very difficult to read. By census, Hester was probably born 1846. Year of death not readable--she died after 1860. My reading from about 20 years ago:
"Hester Ann, daughter of S. & R.S.,
Born Feb. 27, 18__
Died Apr. 15, 18__

Rachel Rose
I think you might be correct! I posted her obit on her memorial, and even though it states she is the Late Mrs Michael Rose, everything else in the obit fits your description of her being a Shinn. Especially since her body was taken to the Castle home. Do you know when her husband died?

Joseph Courtney
Hi Amy

I used the info from Joseph's social security application. I think that was the only thing I could find that gave a specific town of birth. I didn't see a town on the registration card but because that info was provided when he was younger, I would say that would be more correct. The mind tends to forget those minor details with age. I can admit to

My mother was born and raised in MC and her grandparents/great grandparents/cousins etc lived in & around the communities of Rockwell & Dougherty. After visiting the area many times, I can see how someone would claim one town when they didn't necessarily live there...only close to it because they lived on a farm. Either town works for me. Thanks for the message....Best regards, Jamie
