RE: Christian Theis (Thies)
No problem. I found it interesting that he noted "3 Years at War" and his dates of service on his tombstone! A true foreign-born patriot!

Christian Theis (Thies)
Hi again, Karen,

I noted the different spellings of the last name Theis and Thies in the cemetery.

I found a death certificate for Christian Thies (how it is spelled on his stone). On the death certificate is is spelled Theis and is signed by Henry Theis (probably the Henry who is married to Melissa and with the baby Edith). At any rate, I uploaded it to his memorial.

I figured out there was already a memorial for Henry, Melissa and Edith under the name THEIS so I deleted the ones I had created.

Hope this helps.

Theis and Cauleys in Oak Grove Burying Ground
Hi,

I looked for the grave of Mary Theis and was unable to locate her in Oak Grove Burial Ground. Your theory that she might be located under all of those tree branches could be correct.

I did locate Bertha Theis Cauley and her husband, John T. Cauley, as well as Charlie Caulie. I uploaded photos for all. Also, I noticed you have a memorial for John C. Cauley, but don't have birth or death information on him. I found his death certificate at www.seekingmichigan.org and uploaded it to his memorial. It includes his birth date, death date, parents, and cause of death as malnutrition. I can't imagine.

I also created a memorial and uploaded a photo for another Theis family I saw, Henry, his wife, Melissa, and their baby Edith. Perhaps they are connected to your other family members.

Hope this helps.

RE: Rudolph Boelter (my uncle)
Hi Karen,

I do remember my father (Marvin) mentioning Uncle Rob & Aunt Annie. As far as information I really don't know that much. My sister actually does more research and I will pass on your information to her. Thank you very much and I appreciate you contacting me.

RE: Autust Tice Photo
You are very welcome,Karen, are you related? It was a beutiful morning in Michigan and I love cemeteries. I have so many past friends in them. I always stop to say good morning and a small prayer for them. I am a part of the Downriver Genealogy Society that read the stones, many years ago and published a book with all the names. This reference makes it quite possible to find the stones fast.

Went to West Mound Cemetery this morning and took the picture you requested. I uploaded it to the find-a-grave site for you.
