I've been researching the family histories of my husband, Charles, and my own family for many years. Charles was born and raised in Schuylkill County, and his family roots are very deep in PA. It's an exciting and frustrating hobby, but one I can't give up. I've found so many wonderful "cousins" and others who generously share their knowledge and give so much of themselves to websites like Find A Grave. You have no idea how much you're appreciated!
I'm researching the lines of; BATZ, SHOLLENBERGER, RITZMAN AND ZERBE with all of the variations of the spelling of the surnames. (I can't believe how many different names that can be made out of BATZ!)

Samuel Hoy
Hi Anita,

I found your SIC listed in my junk mail this morning. So I appolgize for the delay in responding. Not sure why it ended up there. Anyway, I have sent you an edit update to link your memorial for Edna M. (Hoy) Shollenberger with my memorial for Samuel. This edit will show up at the top of your contributor page & looks like this, (Edit 1) if you just click there, it will take you to a new screen where you will be allowed to accept my edit. Have you ever discovered any info in your research as to where Samuel's ex-wife, Minnie (Christ) Hoy {1879-1937]might be buried??

At any rate, Many Thanks for the info on Edna, and Good Luck with all your research.

1928 date
Hi Anita,
You mentioned a date of 1928. I assume you were referring to the newspaper article I sent you. If so, I must have made a typing mistake. The date of publication for that article should have read: Tuesday, 7 May 1907. Regarding the possible "foul play": it would be helpful to see/have the coroners report or a death certificate for Morris Batz. Do you have either?

Also, I am going to send you an invitation from so you can review my Wendling/Wentling & Batz/Potts family tree. The invitation will come from "Family_Genealogist". I hope you will have time to review it. If you have anything you can add, I would appreciate the input. Thanks.

RE: Morris William Batz
Good to hear from you. I would suggest you adding the newspaper article/s due to the fact the information is out there for others to find and they may not have the other information you have knowledge of now. Also add the other reports you have knowledge of so as to let anyone else know of the different stories. Since you have control of the Find A Grave memorial, use the Find A Grave "bio" to express your reluctance to add the confusing reports and your opinion as to what you think and feel is the more correct story. Many people do not have access to the pay for use genealogy sites and may only have the Find A Grave site to explore their families. Hope you see my points. Take care, Suzzette
