Allen Marshall Obit
Hey, Linda,
I've added dozens of obits since Dec 2013 when I went through a box of old newspaper clippings my great grandmother had saved. A few were my family, but most were from MT, OH, and ID newspapers. I recognized some as friends, but most I have no idea why she kept, but felt FindAGrave was a great place to post them. Looked through the envelope and didn't see an obit for Allen Marshall. Could you send me his birth and death dates to help me locate it? Thanks. Linda

Are you logged in to Find A Grave? If you are not, you won't be able to do any editing. If you are logged in, is your login and password the same as it was back when you created your grandpa's memorial years ago.

If you are asking about free web sites to search for information, there is. www.familysearch.org is a great, free web site. It is managed by the Mormons out in Utah. They have almost as much info to access as Ancestry.com., now remember I said almost. They have a 1-800 number to use if you have a problem or don't understand how to manever around their site. The mormon sisters absolutely love for people to call them. I reseached my family and my x husbands family from this site.
Then there is www.rootsweb.com. It's not really for researching, but many people have put their families on this site. To me, it is a reference site.
I'm sure there are more, but I think you will find a lot on familysearch.

Hope this helps you. Sue

It's alright about yesterday. You stated your opinion and I stated mine. It's behind us and over with. I will help you as much as I can. I can't deny you for wanting help finding your relatives. It's not easy when you live in one state and they are buried in another. It's not easy losing someone when you were close to them. I understand completely where you are coming from. Now, let's get your grandpa moved.

Go to his memorial page.
On his memorial page, beside where it says "burial", there is an edit link (it is blue). Click on that link.
When that link opens, you want to click the one that says, "Cemetery burial (including buried ashes). Click continue.
Click in the box where the cemetery name "GreenWood" is.
Either delete it or backspace it out till there is nothing in that box.
Now type into that blank box "Greenwood". It won't let you type anymore words than that. Leave the country as United States and the state as North Carolina. It will not let you put a county. Click "Search for Cemetery".
You should have a list of all cemeteries in North Carolina named Greenwood.
Click in the round circle beside the one that says, "Greenwood Cemetery, Gaston County, Belmont". Make sure a green dot shows in that round circle.
Scroll to bottom of page and click "Save Changes".
He should be moved over to the correct cemetery.
Let me know if you have any problems.

Good luck, Sue
