RE: Can you help me?
This is one door that seems to insist on remaining locked. I have some old photos of the Gathman family. One is of Henry and Mathilda and about the first 5 or six of their children in front of their farm house. If you like I can copy them and send them to you.

RE: Can you help me?
A correction to my first reply. Mathilda Gathman is my great, great grandmother. Her daughter Rose Gathman Haberkamp is my great grandmother.

RE: Can you help me?
Mathilda Draft Gathman is my great grandmother. The maiden name of Draft is the name written on her death certificate. Nothing is known of her parents but she had one sister and a brother that came to U.S. with her about 1864/65. They stayed with an uncle in Chicago who's name was William Nofs. Her maiden name could possibly have been spelled as Drawz or Drawtz. Exact spelling is unsure. No one ever remembered her family visiting her so nothing is known about her siblings. I hope this helps and sorry it took so long to answer. I just got my internet back on. If I can be of any more help please let me know.

Thank you for that website. It was helpful in finding the correct spellings on some of the markers I photographed in Mt. Emblem Cemetery.

RE: Can you help me?
I was in the Chicago area a week ago and, by pure coincidence, learned that some of the folks from St. Johann's Cemetery are being moved to Mount Emblem in Bensonville, IL. I was taking photos there and saw a great many markers behind the office waiting to be placed on new graves when the deceased arrived.

I believe I received the information from other F.A.G. contributor. I believe it was sent to me after I placed the entry. Also, that cemetery is no longer there. O'Hare Airport won the court case and all the graves from that cemetery and from nearby St.Johann's Cemetery have been moved to other cemeteries.
