RE: email
That email address should work - all lowercase letters with underscores (not spaces).

I am looking forward to the pictures!

I tried to send an email to your personal email, but apparently it is no longer a valid address. Hope to hear from you!

It's been long enough ago that I don't recall the name of the town. As I recall, they were near Anaheim. I believe it was a trip I took to attend an annual professional meeting at the convention center there. We had dinner at a very nice restaurant and then went to their home afterwards. Also a long conversation. It seemed as if Ruth had not changed, but Mel Eddie had grown up! Of course, I had too! That's when I corrected that he now went by Mel. Presently I live in Washington State.

Mel Ruby
Mel and Ruth were family friends when I was growing up in Van Wert, Ohio. Mel Eddie was my age. We exchanged Christmas gifts until we were about junior high age. I also visited Ruth and Mel (no longer Mel Eddie by then!) on a trip a took to California which was sometime before 1990.

My father was Virgil as listed In the obituary. I knew all the others listed except Raymond whom I only met once at Forests' funeral. Thanks for posting. I have all my parents documents in storage. I will start looking through them for any connection to Gertrude. I have two cousins that were once looking into the Slanes via bulletin board. James and Viki (Chapmen). They appear to have given up their search but were very interested at one time. Maybe I can re-light their interests. I would be interested in any info you have and I will send you anything I find.

Sorry, but my Grandfather is a bit of a mystery to me. My father did not ever speak of his parents. I will ask my brother and cousins about your Grandmother. They are all older than I am and have had more personal contact with the Slane side of my family. Who knows, maybe we are related!
