I am somewhat new to Findagrave. My mother has been doing genealogy for many years and I have finally developed an interest too. I enjoy going out to help her photograph tombstones. |
I am a college student, and an author. My first book, Fire's Love, has been published. It is the first book in a five-book series - the Elemental Series.

|Mark||Ebenezer P. Stewart|
Update: Today I checked with the cemetery office and learned that Ebenezer P. Stewart owned the plots in which Mary Stewart and William Mitchell are buried, but the office has no record of Ebenezer being buried here. [But that does not mean he's not buried in the Stewart plot that he owned.] The graves of Mary Stewart and William Mitchell are marked and there are Find-a-Grave memorials for each. There is also a Find-a-Grave memorial for S.D. Stewart at the Altus Cemetery that shows a photo of both of the above markers and the memorial states that S.D. is buried in an unmarked grave between Mary and William. Off of the right side of that photo are several unmarked and/or vacant plots followed by a single marker on the end for the "children of S.D. and Kate Stewart." Annotated on the east and west side of this marker are the children: Herschel (east) and Justin (west).

My message intent was just to let you know that, without Ebenezer listed on the city cemetery database, I don't know where to look for him to take photographs. The cemetery is very large. My wager is that the online database is in error and the cemetery office will be able to tell you his plot location. The office phone is (580) 481-2281. Good luck!

No problem - I have seen people put up the requests before actually looking for better photos than what was posted. I just wanted to make sure.

you are welcome Alex, this is a nice cemetery and you have a lot of relatives buried here. Your distance relatives have the road in front of the church named for them. the cemetery is gated so I had to be respectful, but creative to get these pictures for you. I posted all other Wylies too and others I took, so search the entire cemetery and you will see pics. Happy Holidays. Curtis
Hi Alex. I don't see Ebenezer Stewart listed in the Altus Cemetery online database at www.cityofaltus.org. (Once on that webpage, you have to click on "Cemetery" in the left menu, then click on "Grave Database" in the left menu, then use the search function in the center of the page.) There are plenty of other Stewarts listed, and the birth and death dates are there to add to any new memorials you may wish to build. Cheers, --Mark

Let me know when you have time. I have Chucks' family on Ancestry. Let me have your email and I will invite you to the tree. My email is email@example.com.

I am wondering how you are related to Mary Wicker, 2nd wife of James W. Mary Wicker is my son-in-laws' grandmother. All her children are dead now and I believe all the children from James's 1st marriage are gone. As a genealogist would like to know how you are related.

I added the links as requested. I am a direct decendent as well. Samuel B. Wylie and Jannett G. Chestnut are my Great Great Great Great Grand Parents. I also linked their memorials down the Wylie tree here in Georgia all the way down to my Grand Father Harold Eugene Wylie (mem# 96787176). I added pictures of the headstones as well.
I wish to continue maintaining their memorials, but I would be interested in any information on them that you find.

Thanks for your request but I continue to manage this memorial Let me know what you might like to add and I will add it. How were you related? Who was your ancestor? and how was he related to mine?
